Today sees the business offering a large retail space and online shopping with an extensive range of imported and local products for horse lovers of all ages, disciplines and experience. Knowledgeable and experienced staff are always ready to welcome and assist you in person or by mail order.

The on-site workshop has experienced canvas and saddlery workers able to repair and manufacture a large range of items, from boat covers, tarpaulins, trampolines, windsocks, the list goes on. Two specialised Saddle Fitters complete the team, providing expert saddle fitting services to the local community and throughout the South Island.

Nathan Clarke – Saddle Fitter & Director

Nathan is a second generation qualified saddler with over 20 years experience. Specialised as a saddle fitter, Nathan has trained two saddle fitting apprentices, one of whom now works along side him at Clarke McKenzie Ltd. Nathan now has a primary interest in research and design, spending time in Europe with top saddle makers and bringing his own brand of saddle to the New Zealand market.

Seija Parkkali – Saddle Fitter

Coming to the business after gaining a Masters degree in biochemestry, Seija applied her attention to detail and thoroughness to saddle fitting and now provides expert consultant services throughout the South Island. Seija also trains horses and is a keen dressage and eventing competitor giving her a true understanding of the requirements of the rider as well as the horse.

Office Manager Karen successfully juggles keeping the office at Clarke McKenzie Ltd organised and running smoothly, her two horses, a young family and being married to Nathan! Any account or administration queries you may have should be directed to Karen for her attention. Karen is from Motueka and has been a rider her entire life.

Advanced rider Jayna has competed to 3 star level eventing and is now a keen showie as well. Jayna shares her vast amount of knowledge with Clarke McKenzie clients in her role as Sales Consultant and when she’s not doing that she’s preparing for the next event on her busy calendar.

Colin Cryer – Canvas Fabricator

Father of four Colin had years of experience as a qualified motor trimmer before turning his hand to the manufacture and repair of canvas goods. He can be found in the Clarke McKenzie Ltd workshop custom making and repairing all manner of canvas items, big or small.
